Madelyn continues to show us how truly strong she is. Her strength, both physically and emotionally, is what is getting her through this. She pulls from each of the people she encounters, whether through her nurse who adjusts her meds or you, at home, logging in and sharing your heartfelt thoughts. Her parents and Sister, Mallory are also sharing their continue strength and love, which feeds her soul and truly comfort her and lets her know that she's doing an awesome job! I believe that it also gives her permission to keep up in her fight and understand that her family has never been prouder to call her daughter, sister, granddaughter, or niece.
Yesterday, Maddy was able to be off her vent for a two-hour period, still on oxygen though to help her out. She was also able to sit up, which was wonderful for her.
Her numbers continue to show improvement each day and we are in awe at her strength!
Madelyn, Keep up the Awesome job! Your strength is inspiring and we are all here cheering you on along you way!
Continued thanks goes out to all of you who are keeping Maddy in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate everything that you have done and are continuing to do to help us out. Thank you!
For those who are waiting for the Kitty Girl adventure to continue....just a little longer.
Let's live our day today, with the strength and determination of Madelyn Johnson!
Wow Maddy!! Two hours off the vent AND able to sit up too!! You rock girl! I bet it felt wonderful to sit up!
ReplyDeleteYou are working so hard!! I know it must be hard and somedays are probably better than others, but just keep your eye on the prize so to speak. You are amazing! Your strength is incredible! Your family spectacular!
It looks like you enjoy riding in boats too! Did your parents allow you to drive the boat?
Keep up the hard work Maddy.
God Bless, Julie S.
Maddy! Two hours?! That is excellent progress. And sitting up too! We are so tickled for you! Love you, The Kimballs
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Maddy,
ReplyDeleteGrampa J. & I are so happy with your progress. We forgot to tell you your Great Grampa J. couldn't sleep for the first couple of nights, you were in the hospital. He was so worried about you! Uncle Rod has been keeping him up to date. Great Grampa still remembers how sweet you were to him when Great Gramma Margie was in hospice. You took his hand and walked with him.
I bet Mallory had fun spending the night with Gabbi last night.
Keep up the progress Maddy (kittygirl). We love you lots & lots.
Grampa & Gramma J.
Hi Maddy!
ReplyDeleteYesterday I went on a long run as I train for my Maddy's Miracle Marathon in May. The weather was incredible and brisk. I was running up Baltimore near the Hangman Valley golf course (fairly close to the trail that you hike with your dad and Mallory), and I came across 50+ wild turkeys. If I wasn't a vegetarian I'd be thinking turkey legs. The male (toms) puffed themselves up to look threatening. I was thinking of you the entire 18 miles and my knees didn't hurt nearly as bad with you on my mind.
Much love,
Mama Kat
Way to go Maddy! We are so proud of you and the progress that you are making :) Hopefully today you will have another amazing day. Keep up the fight!
ReplyDeleteThe Summers'
Madelyn, You are getting better each day. Your great Aunt Felise's class is so wonderful. We loved all of the cards. How thoughtful of you all. You guys made her feel really special. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteKara ( Madelyn's mom)

Hi Maddy,
ReplyDeleteYou keep up the great work. I bet tomorrow you'll be off of the ventilator for 3 hours!!
Well, since my kids ate another popcicle, I have another joke for you. Here goes.....
Why did the picture end up in jail?
He was framed!!!!! Ha!
Hope this silly joke put a smile on your face and a chuckle in your laugh!!
I'll try for another joke tomorrow!
Love, Lynette
Good morning Maddy,
ReplyDeleteWhitney and I filled your classmates in on all your great progress yesterday. They were all so proud of you. I wish you could have seen their faces! Now, we can tell them you were off your vent for 2 hours. Awesome!
You aren't missing much in class right now. We are doing WASL practice. I am trying to bribe the kiddos into pretending they enjoy it. Any ideas? Extra recess? Big party?
Yesterday I did get a chance to make a fool out of myself in front of the entire school!
(Thank you Mrs. Herrington)Actually, it was kind-of fun. You'll have to ask Mallory about it. Conclusion: I did win and I used the Hamster method to do so.
I miss your adorable, smiling face.
Love and prayers,
Ms. Johnson D.T.
